Erin Stott and Amelia Brown latest players to excel through England Women Performance Pathway
Erin Stott and Amelia Brown have become the latest players to excel through the England Women Rugby League Performance Pathway debuting in a comprehensive win during the senior team’s latest triumph over Wales.
Both players earnt their first international call up following breakout performances in the Betfred Women's Super League for their respective clubs throughout the 2024 season.
The young talents produced strong individual performances on Saturday, in a recording breaking 16-try victory over Wales. Huddersfield fullback Brown marked her appearance with a hat-trick with St Helens centre Stott also scoring a try of her own.
22-year-old Stott was part of the first England Rugby League DiSE cohort when the now current England Head Coach, Stuart Barrow, launched the programme in 2019.
Since graduating from the programme, she produced impressive performances for the Giants which resulted in selection to the England Knights, debuting in a 2021 World Cup warm-up fixture against the Cook Islands. She made the move to St Helens, playing a key role in the teams Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final wins at Wembley Stadium.
Brown was selected into the third DiSE cohort back in 2021, benefiting from the first ever DiSE group to tour Catalans last year. The 20-year-old was shortlisted for the BWSL Young Player of the Year in 2023 after scoring 11 league tries and continued this prolific from in 2024 scoring 13 tries.
The Rugby Football League’s DiSE Manager, Conor Meese, said: “We are delighted to see a further two players come through our pathway to represent England at senior level. Both are key players for their club sides and have earnt selection after numerous consistent performances."

The Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) programme is a National Programme for Year 12 and Year 13 girls who are deemed to have the potential to represent England in the future and play at the top of the Women’s game in England.
