Holders Wigan Warriors will face Hull FC in the Fourth Round of the Betfred Challenge Cup next month in a tie which will stir memories of one of the greatest ever Wembley Finals 40 years ago.
Wigan beat Hull 28-24 in the 1985 Final, with their stand-off Brett Kenny staging a personal battle with his Australia and Parramatta half-back partner Peter Sterling, and winning the Lance Todd Trophy as Man of the Match.
Warrington Wolves, who were beaten by Wigan in last year’s Final, have been drawn away at their old Cheshire rivals Widnes Vikings.
St Helens will face Leeds Rhinos in the last 16 for the second year running, but this time Saints will have home advantage as they aim to repeat last season’s victory at AMT Headingley.
Bradford Bulls, who pulled off an impressive victory against Castleford Tigers in the Third Round, will have another shot at Betfred Super League opposition with an away tie at Salford Red Devils, and the other three Championship teams left in the competition also have to travel – Batley Bulldogs to the 2023 Wembley winners Leigh, Oldham to the 2023 runners-up Hull KR, and Featherstone Rovers to Catalans Dragons.
The remaining tie is an all-Super League West Yorkshire derby between Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Trinity.
The ties will be played on the weekend of March 14-16, with broadcast arrangements to be confirmed this week.
