Matt Ellis, the owner of AB Sundecks 1895 Cup holders Wakefield Trinity, will conduct the draw for the quarter finals of this year’s competition on Sunday evening, in the BBC Radio Leeds studio.
The draw will be broadcast live on West Yorkshire Sport at around 515pm.
Like Leigh Leopards in 2023, Trinity do not have the opportunity to defend the Cup following their promotion to the Betfred Super League – and they will be aiming to emulate Leigh, who followed their 1895 Cup triumph at Tottenham in 2022 by winning the Betfred Challenge Cup at Wembley 12 months later.
This weekend is the First Round proper of the 2025 competition, with the 12 English clubs in the Betfred Championship joined by four League One teams who have come through two preliminary rounds.
There is one tie on Saturday, as London Broncos host Dewsbury Rams at the New River Stadium.
The other seven will be played on Sunday afternoon with local derbies at Batley, Oldham and Sheffield, and League One newcomers Goole Vikings welcoming Paul Crarey’s Barrow Raiders to the Victoria Pleasure Ground.
The Quarter Finals will be played on the same weekend as the Betfred Challenge Cup Quarter Finals (April 5-6), with the Semi Finals on the weekend of May 17-18.
The sixth AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final will be played at Wembley Stadium as part of Challenge Cup Finals Day on Saturday June 7, kicking off at 545pm.
