Women's 2025 League Seasons get underway this weekend

Women's 2025 League Seasons get underway this weekend

Sunday 23rd March will see the Women’s National Championship, Northern League One and League Two 2025 season commence. And with standards on field improving each year, it is set to be one of the most enthralling yet.

The Championship will see 11 teams competing for a spot in the Grand Final, with League One and Two featuring 8 teams each.

The Championship Grand Final Winners will play in the Promotion Play-Off Final for a chance to be promoted into the Betfred Women's Super League once again, on Sunday 5th October. Previously, we saw Leigh Leopards Women dominate the Championship League and advance to the Betfred Women’s Super League by triumphally beating former Women’s Super League team Featherstone Rovers. Therefore, the sky is the limit for all teams competing in the Championship League to say the least!

The League One and Two will also participate in their own Grand Finals that will take place on Sunday 12th October, with teams competing for promotion to the Championship League.

With so much action and to stay up to date with results and league tables, visit the Rugby League Match Centre for more information.

RFL Head of Development and General Manager of the BWSL, Thomas Brindle, expressed: “2025 will undoubtedly serve as another great year for Women’s Rugby League and the talent that the leagues embrace.

"Last year we saw Leigh Leopards Women progress fully through the newly introduce pyramid structure from Championship to Super League, this new system including introducing Cardiff Demons and London Broncos to the Northern Championship League shows growth again for teams in structured competition across the northern regions, fostering development and creating more opportunities for teams to thrive."
