RFL's partner, Try Tag Rugby, is excited to announce the launch of its Salford Licence and the opening of registration for a brand new Salford League.
The first seven-week, weekly league will start on Thursday 29th May at Broughton Cricket and Rugby Club, a venue easily accessible from all parts of Salford and North Manchester. The mixed adult league for people of all genders is open for registration to teams as well as individuals who will be placed on a team. A series of Free Taster Sessions will be taking place in the run up to the league on the 8th, 15th and 18th May for people to Give Tag A Try!
Try Tag Rugby is one of the UK’s leading adult social sports organisations, providing high-quality Tag Rugby Leagues and events. Last summer, over 11,000 people played weekly across 31 different locations, including 16 London boroughs, Brighton & Hove, Bradford, Bristol, Coventry, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Oxford, Reading, Sheffield, Wakefield, Warwick/Leamington Spa, Wigan and York.
Tag Rugby is a fun and inclusive minimal-contact social sport suitable for all adults. No previous rugby experience is necessary, making it a sport that can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced players alike.
It’s also a great way to meet new people or catch up with existing friends. Each week, players can come together after their games to enjoy a drink with their teammates and opponents at the weekly post-match social.
The Salford licence will be run by Cameron Green. Cameron brings Try Tag Rugby to Salford having previously played in nearby Manchester leagues.
Cameron said: “I’m really excited to bring Try Tag Rugby to Salford and give people an easy way to get active, have fun, and meet new people. I’ve been playing Tag Rugby for the last couple of years, and it’s been an amazing way to stay fit, make friends, and be part of a welcoming community. I can’t wait to bring that same experience to Salford and see players of all backgrounds and abilities giving it a go and making Salford’s Tag Rugby scene something special.”
Try Tag Rugby National Licensing Director, Carl Duckels said: “We’re thrilled to have Cameron on board as the Try Tag Rugby Salford licensee. As a current player in neighbouring Manchester, he knows first-hand what it’s like to be part of the Try Tag Rugby community—both as a player and as a customer.
"Salford has huge potential and we’re confident Cameron is the perfect person to help it reach that potential. With his experience and enthusiasm, we know he’ll build a fun, social, and welcoming community where players can easily get active and make new friends.”
